Aridalia is an independent site about controlling humidity, choosing the right dehumidifier, and dealing with mold and water damage in Florida homes.

Florida is the most humid state in the continental U.S. Almost every homeowner here fights the same problems: musty closets, condensation on windows and AC vents, mold in bathrooms, wood floors that swell, air conditioners that cool but don’t dry. Most guides on the internet are written for basements in Ohio. This site is not.

What we do

We take open datasets and turn them into practical answers for Florida homeowners:

• NOAA: 30 years of humidity records for every Florida metro.
• CPSC: the federal database of dehumidifier recalls and complaints, which models actually caught fire, and how many were affected.
• Amazon Reviews 2023: 571 million reviews collected by a UC San Diego research lab. We filter it for dehumidifier owners in humid climates.
• FEMA / NFIP: flood insurance claims by ZIP code, used for water damage pages.
