Four packages built around the same models
Start with an equipment list for the specific job. The packages compared here vary the number of air movers and air scrubbers, while each has one dehumidifier. Moving from two Zeus 900 units to six adds airflow locations, but no additional dehumidifiers. [1] [2] [3] [4]
The numbers below show the quantities of Storm LGR Extreme, Zeus 900 and CleanShield HEPA 550, in that order. These are comparison labels, not manufacturer product codes.
| Package | Storm LGR Extreme | Zeus 900 | CleanShield HEPA 550 | Total machines |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 + 2 + 1 ↗ | 1 | 2 | 1 | 4 |
| 1 + 2 + 2 ↗ | 1 | 2 | 2 | 5 |
| 1 + 4 + 1 ↗ | 1 | 4 | 1 | 6 |
| 1 + 6 + 1 ↗ | 1 | 6 | 1 | 8 |
Select a package label to open its TheDryAir listing. Quantities are confirmed by the titles and Product Overview sections of the four listings. The 1 + 2 + 1 and 1 + 2 + 2 packages have separate product pages.
Model names alone do not establish the exact version. For example, the 1 + 2 + 1 listing mentions Wi-Fi control for the Storm, although its title does not specify that feature. Before paying, obtain the full dehumidifier model designation on the order, especially if remote control affects your choice. [1]
Three machines, three different roles
Storm LGR Extreme
Removes water vapor from the air. Its built-in pump sends the resulting condensate through a drain line. It is not designed to extract standing water from a floor. [5]
Zeus 900
Creates directional airflow. Multiple units allow airflow at several locations. Their number and placement follow the drying plan, rather than the number of fans in the boxes. [6]
CleanShield HEPA 550
Passes air through filters to capture particles. This is a separate task from removing moisture. For negative-air operation, the manual describes duct connections and pressure-differential monitoring. [7]
The additional CleanShield in the 1 + 2 + 2 package provides a second filtration unit. It does not increase the dehumidifier count. Similarly, the four extra Zeus units in the 1 + 6 + 1 package offer more airflow options, but do not by themselves establish a shorter drying time.
What to plan beyond the package
The published equipment lists for these four packages name a dehumidifier, air movers and air scrubbers. They do not list a separate water extractor, moisture meter or containment kit. That describes the limits of the listings; it does not confirm every shipment's contents or any seller bonuses. [1] [2] [3] [4]
- Water extraction and damaged materials
- If water remains on site, arrange its removal separately. EPA treats water removal, cleaning, removal of unsalvageable materials and drying as distinct tasks. Having a dehumidifier does not mean the other stages have been completed. [8] [9]
- Measurements and drying records
- Deciding when drying is complete requires material readings and selected drying targets. Air sensors on the dehumidifier do not replace those measurements. Our guide to checking drying results explains what to request from the contractor.
- Containment and ducting
- If the work plan calls for containment of a contaminated area and negative pressure, include the enclosure, ducting and pressure monitoring in the estimate. A CleanShield alone does not form a complete containment system. [7]
- Protective equipment and cleanup
- For flood cleanup, EPA recommends protective equipment and specific contamination precautions. These depend on the work involved; buying an equipment package does not determine how damaged materials can be handled safely. [8]
EPA warns that fans can spread mold where it is visible. Assess cleanup methods and measures to limit contamination before starting airflow in such an area. [8]
Filters and drainage: confirm before ordering
The CleanShield manual describes filter maintenance and the replacement indicator. Count installed filters and spare sets separately: a description of the filtration system does not mean extra filters will ship with the machine. [7]
Record the installed filter types, spare quantities and replacement part numbers in the order confirmation. For the Storm, check whether a drain hose is included and its length, then compare this with the intended condensate discharge point. The package lists do not itemize these accessories. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Machine count also affects transport: the 1 + 6 + 1 package contains eight separate units. Check vehicle space and loading arrangements before buying. Permission to daisy-chain air movers does not mean a dehumidifier and scrubber can be added to the same circuit without checking the load. Check connections against the manuals, the specific machines' nameplates and the available electrical circuits. [4] [5] [6] [7]
What the seller's quote should include
To compare a package with buying separately, match the machine versions, accessories, delivery and service terms. The word Combo alone does not establish a saving.
- Full model names, Storm version, quantities and selected colors.
- An itemized list of accessories and spare filters, with quantities.
- Dispatch date and expected delivery to your address, including any separate shipments.
- Return terms and warranty for each equipment type, including parts, labor and shipping for service.
Obtain the warranty terms in a separate document: the 1 + 4 + 1 package description mentions five years for the dehumidifier, while the top banner advertises an updated six-year limited warranty. These two statements do not establish the terms of a specific order. [3]
For repeat jobs, compare the package with your list of missing equipment. If you already have a dehumidifier and filtration, compare a bundle containing more of those machines with buying air movers separately. For a one-time leak, another option is renting equipment or hiring a drying service.
