Which Argendon XStorm should you choose?
Argendon XStorm Pro, Plus, and Max are designed to dehumidify rooms and dry them after leaks. Each has wheels, a telescoping handle, and a built-in pump. For a first unit from this range, I would compare the total price including delivery, with the same included equipment and warranty terms. The documents reviewed give no verified technical reason to pay more specifically for Max. [1] [2] [3]

Why does Argendon highlight Max?
In Argendon's Best Dehumidifier 2025 Review, Max is the pick for drying after flooding. The reasons given are high capacity, durable internal components, a reinforced housing, and continuous operation. This is a recommendation for a particular job; the article does not compare Max directly with Pro and Plus. [5]
The technical descriptions also position Pro and Plus for restoration after leaks. Argendon's water-damage drying page features all three XStorm models. [1] [2] [3] [12]
| Reason given | What is claimed for Pro and Plus |
|---|---|
| High water removal | The product pages give the same water removal and airflow for all three. [1] [2] [3] |
| Reinforced housing | The Pro and Plus PDFs also describe a rugged rotomolded housing for construction and restoration work. Pro, p. 2, Plus, p. 2, Max, p. 2. |
| Durable internal components | In all three specification sheets, Argendon claims an evaporator made with a rare-earth alloy for corrosion protection, plus access to the pump and circuit board. [1] [2] [3] |
| Continuous operation | All three manuals include CO continuous mode. [6] [7] [8] |
| Pump drainage | For all three, Argendon lists a built-in pump with a lift of up to 19.6 ft. [1] [2] [3] |
TOOVEM's support database also describes a rugged housing, a corrosion-resistant evaporator, access to components, and operation over several days for all three. This is documentation from a related corporate group, rather than an independent test. [11]
Max's published specifications suit post-flood drying, but these materials do not establish faster drying, greater strength, or longer service life than Pro and Plus.
How the control panels differ
Pro and Plus have full English action names above the buttons. Max uses letters and symbols: P starts pump purging, M opens the menu, and the arrow changes the value. These four buttons perform the same functions. If you prefer labels in words, choose Pro or Plus. [6] [7] [8]
XStorm Pro
POWER, PURGE, MENU, and SET. [6]
XStorm Plus
POWER, PURGE, MENU, and SET; a different button design. [7]
XStorm Max
Power symbol, P, M, and an arrow. [8]
All three let you set a target relative humidity or run continuously. Their manuals describe the same menu sequence and manual pump control. [6] [7] [8]
Ratings shared by all three models
Each product page lists 85 pints/day AHAM and 180 pints/day at saturation. AHAM stands for Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, which develops test standards. Saturation describes water removal in warmer, more humid air. [1] [2] [3]
On the Plus image showing test conditions, 85 pints/day corresponds to 80°F and 60% relative humidity, and 180 pints/day to 90°F and 90%. These conditions are not printed beside the ratings in the tables of the three PDF specification sheets. Compare water removal at the same temperature and humidity. [4]
The published airflow of 210 CFM (cubic feet per minute), weight of 63 lb, and dimensions of 21 × 11.6 × 17.3 inches (length × width × height) also match. [1] [2] [3]
The specification tables in the manuals for Pro, Plus, Max give different figures: 72.3 pints/day AHAM, 310 CFM, and 58.8 lb. This document discrepancy affects all three, so it does not explain a difference between Pro, Plus, and Max. For the detailed comparison, see the document-conflicts section of the brand review.
Replacement parts and buying several units
In Argendon's store, one main control board listing is marked as compatible with Pro, Max, and Plus. The pump with a float switch has three order options: XStorm Pro Pump, XStorm Max Pump, and XStorm Plus Pump. Select your model when ordering a pump. [9] [10]
The board listing confirms a compatible replacement, but does not establish identical factory components. The three pump options have no separate technical specifications that would let us compare their performance.
The Argendon filter and parts guide covers XStorm replacement filters, pump variants, float switches, and control boards.
Buying and other options
The Argendon XStorm Pro, Plus, and Max product pages state the same limited five-year warranty. [1] [2] [3]

For a one-time drying job, compare buying with renting a dehumidifier. For a multi-unit purchase, our Argendon commercial packages comparison covers single-model batches, mixed XStorm bundles, and prices.
For a different design, compare Sandidry Elite 50C, 60C, and 80C. The AlorAir Storm LGR Extreme has carrying handles instead of wheels. For a comparison with other models, see commercial dehumidifiers.
