This frigidaire dehumidifier review is assembled from 4,002 owner reviews and from federal tables. I did not test the unit.
Frigidaire publishes noise and airflow figures that most of its class leaves blank. It also carries the highest share of low ratings in the sample I worked with. Both facts belong on the same page.

Where the numbers come from
The core sample is 62,317 reviews of 711 compressor household dehumidifiers written between 2002 and 2023, taken from the open Amazon Reviews 2023 dataset. The selection method is described on a separate page.
Frigidaire accounts for 4,002 of those reviews across 17 listings. The earliest date to 2014; the heaviest years are 2021 and 2022.
What this frigidaire dehumidifier review found
The share of one and two star reviews is 31.7 percent. Across the rest of the core sample, 58,315 reviews, it is 16.7 percent.
Close to double. The number describes owner experience rather than build quality, and it can be read several ways: the age of the model line, what a buyer expects from an old household name, sheer sales volume. The data does not settle which.
The shape of the complaints, though, is unlike anything else in the category.
The complaints are about failure, not comfort
Review texts are tagged by topic: the figure is the share of reviews where a topic comes up at all, in praise as well as in complaint.

Tank, drainage and noise sit at or below the category level. One row moves up: breakdown.
Among one and two star reviews the picture sharpens. Breakdown, repair or warranty appears in 59.2 percent of them. An error code on the display appears in 14.4 percent, coil frost in 7.4 percent. Noise barely registers in low ratings at 5.6 percent.
An unhappy Frigidaire owner is not writing about an awkward machine. They are writing that the machine stopped running.
How long the unit ran
In 445 reviews the owner names how long the unit worked before it failed. The median is 12 months, and 55 percent of those figures fall inside the first year.
That number needs a caveat or it misleads. A length of service gets named by owners whose unit died: the phrase “it lasted X months” belongs to a failure story. This is not an average service life, it is the distribution inside such stories.
Noise and airflow: the figures exist
The Frigidaire specification sheet lists noise per fan speed, 47, 49 and 51 dBA, and airflow per fan speed, 167, 194 and 229 cubic feet per minute.
An independent lab measurement recorded 54.6 dBA on high, above the published 51. A published figure and an independent measurement are different things, and I give both.

The 50 pint model sits at exactly 50.00, the ceiling of the class: no portable unit in the register goes above it. Those figures come from the Appendix X1 procedure, which since 13 June 2019 tests at 65 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 80 and moved the familiar market classes from 30, 50 and 70 pints down to 20, 30 and 50.
The tank holds 16.9 pints. Lowest working temperature is 41 degrees Fahrenheit, auto defrost is present, the filter is washable, the warranty runs one year, and the refrigerant is R-410A.
What matters in Florida
The base version has no pump. Water leaves either into the bucket or by gravity through a garden hose fitting, and the hose itself is not in the box.
A dehumidifier here gets no dead season, so drainage is settled before the purchase rather than after. If a drain sits below the unit, the base version is enough. If the water has to reach a sink or go out of a window, the pump version is the one to buy.
Coil frost appears in Frigidaire reviews twice as often as across the category, 2.8 percent against 1.5. For a Florida house that changes little: frost is tied to running a machine in a cold room, and in this climate it drops off the checklist.

Same capacity, but the water leaves upward without anyone lifting a bucket. In a house where a dehumidifier runs most of the year and the nearest drain is above floor level, this is the version that removes the daily task.

In November 2016 the CPSC announced a recall of roughly 3.4 million dehumidifiers built by GD Midea and sold under about fifty brand names. Frigidaire was on that list. The commission recorded 38 incidents of smoke or fire.
The boundary reads as follows: GD Midea built the units and Frigidaire supplied the brand name. The recall has no bearing on the models in the current line, and I will not extend it to them.

Reviews are not a random sample of owners: they are written by people who decided to write. The share of low ratings is not the share of failures.
Why breakdowns appear more often in these reviews remains unknown. Our data cannot test it.
Topic tagging works on words. It sees that a topic was raised, but it does not separate praise from complaint except through the rating attached to the review.
