The short answer this vremi dehumidifier review exists to give: Vremi dehumidifiers are not on Amazon or Walmart, and no models under that brand remain in the federal register. The company, meanwhile, says it is keeping the brand.

I did not test the unit. What follows is both sides of that contradiction, what 4,120 owner reviews showed while the line was selling, and what to buy instead.

What has actually happened to the brand

The shelf says one thing and the company filings say another. Here is both.

What the shelf shows. In the Vremi store on Amazon the dehumidifiers are marked as currently unavailable, both the 35 pint unit and the one pint mini. The brand’s dehumidifier section on Walmart returns a page not found. In the current ENERGY STAR register export there are no models under the Vremi name.

What the company says. In its quarterly report for the first quarter of 2026, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Aterian states that it expects to continue operating its smaller remaining legacy brands, Vremi among them.

Formally the two are compatible: a brand can be kept as an asset without any dehumidifiers being made. But on the two large retailers I checked, the machine is not there.

I did not check Target or Home Depot, so scattered retail stock is possible.

What this vremi dehumidifier review found in the reviews

The core sample is 62,317 reviews of 711 compressor household dehumidifiers written between 2002 and 2023, drawn from the open Amazon Reviews 2023 dataset. The selection method is described on a separate page.

Vremi accounts for 4,120 of those reviews from just two listings. For comparison, Hisense has 38 listings in the sample and GE has 31. This brand ran on a pair of products.

The share of one and two star reviews is 13.0 percent. Across the rest of the core sample it is 17.9 percent, and five star reviews make up 71.9 percent. Reviews peak at 1,761 in 2019 and fall to 95 in 2023.

The only brand here where noise leads

Review texts are tagged by topic. The figure is the share of reviews where a topic comes up at all, in praise as well as in complaint.

Noise leads at 18.1 percent against 12.7 across the category. Among the brands covered here, this is the only one where noise came out as the top topic.

Vremi units have a Turbo mode that raises fan speed. The tagging does not separate praise for quietness from complaints about loudness, so the figure marks a topic rather than a verdict.

Support and service runs the other way, at 5.2 percent against 9.8 across the category. For the brands certified through JHS INC that same topic sat at the top, between 17.8 and 18.7 percent.

Inside low ratings, breakdown leads at 42.6 percent, followed by support at 17.7 and coil frost at 10.1 against an overall share of 1.9.

Twelve months

In 131 reviews the owner names how long the unit ran before it failed. The median, meaning the middle value of that list rather than the average, is 12 months, and half of the figures fall inside the first year.

Counted the same way: Waykar 5 months, Kesnos and yaufey 6 each, Hisense 8, Frigidaire and hOmeLabs 12.

The caveat stands: a length of service gets named by owners whose unit died, so this is the distribution inside failure stories rather than an average service life.

Two scales on one line

The 50 pint listing described its capacity like this: 50 pints, with 70 pints given in brackets as the 2012 DOE rating standard.

That is one machine in two measurement systems. Fifty comes from the current Appendix X1 procedure, tested at 65 degrees Fahrenheit and 60 percent relative humidity. Seventy comes from the earlier DOE procedure, tested at 80 degrees and 60 percent. Both figures sat side by side, with the old one labelled as old. Gravity drainage only

No model in the line had a pump, and the hose for continuous drainage was not included in the box: the product description said so directly.

For Florida that matters. A dehumidifier here runs most of the year, and a 1.8 gallon tank fills quickly.

What to buy instead

The closest brand by the data is hOmeLabs: 13.2 percent low ratings against 13.0 for Vremi, on a sample of 11,535 reviews. Noise there comes up in 13.3 percent of reviews against 18.1 for Vremi.

One caveat belongs here. Both brands used to belong to Aterian, but on 27 April 2026 the company agreed to sell hOmeLabs, along with its other marquee brands, to Trademark Global for 18 million dollars, while keeping Vremi. The brands no longer share an owner, so this recommendation rests on review data rather than on any family connection.

What this analysis does not show

I did not test the unit. The findings come from owner reviews, the ENERGY STAR register, product descriptions and company filings.

Reviews are not a random sample of owners: they are written by people who decided to write. The share of low ratings is not the share of failures.

I found no statement that Vremi dehumidifier production has ended. The company filings say the opposite: the brand is being kept.

Availability at Target and Home Depot was not checked.

No register entry linking the Vremi brand to Aterian Group appears in the current export.

The hOmeLabs sale is described from documents dated April and May 2026. Whether it closed, and on what terms, I did not verify.

Exact Appendix X1 figures for the Vremi models were not pulled.

Topic tagging works on words. It sees that a topic was raised, but it does not separate praise from complaint except through the rating attached to the review.
