Waykar vs Yaufey: two compact models
The current product comparison pairs Waykar PD160B-PRO with Yaufey PD161D. Both collect moisture in a removable bucket and support gravity drainage. They are small portable compressor dehumidifiers, despite the large room-coverage claims in their listings.

RH means relative humidity: how close the air is to saturation at its current temperature. A setpoint is a control setting, not a guarantee that every part of the room reaches that reading. Yaufey’s linked manual describes a 30% setting, while its current product page starts at 40%; that difference remains unresolved.
The earlier PD160B, the PRO model and the black PRO-B have separate ENERGY STAR entries. Results for the older PD160B do not automatically describe the PRO pictured here.
Compare pint ratings at the same conditions
The headline 34 and 32.7 pint figures are not equivalent to current US portable-dehumidifier ratings measured at 65°F and 60% RH. Warmer, wetter air lets a compressor unit collect substantially more water.
Same conditions, different daily output
Manufacturer manual figures, in US pints per day. Each pair uses the same temperature and relative humidity. The scale starts at zero.
The manuals place Waykar ahead by 1.5 pints per day at 65°F and 60% RH. That is a modest documented capacity difference. It does not establish drying speed in a particular Florida room, and neither figure supports treating these as current-test 30- or 50-pint machines.
Yaufey’s official store says 32.7 pints without conditions beside that headline. The manual it links for PD161D gives 31 pints at 95°F and 90% RH; the existing Amazon offer is also titled 31 pints. The chart uses the manual consistently rather than substituting the store headline into one row. [2, 4]

Integrated energy factor measures water removal per unit of electricity under the specified procedure; a higher value indicates more liters removed per kilowatt-hour. The PD161D manual lists 1.30 L/kWh at 65°F and 60% RH, but that is a manufacturer specification, not evidence of ENERGY STAR certification.
The current registry names Waykar as the partner for its PD160B records and JHS INC for Yaufey JD025Q-80. Earlier records connected both brands to JHS INC. A filing relationship does not establish identical components, ownership or warranty service. The related Waykar review and Yaufey review cover their broader lineups.
The 33 dB claim is not a head-to-head test
Waykar advertises a minimum 33 dB for PD160B-PRO. Dehumidifier Buyers Guide measured the older PD160B at 53.9 dB on low and 59.1 dB on high, with the microphone above and in front of the control panel. Those readings concern a different model and setup. [1, 6]
The tester also heard more noticeable compressor buzz on low. Its observations help describe that tested unit, but cannot establish whether PD160B-PRO is quieter than PD161D. We have no matched independent noise test for the pair pictured here. The manufacturer’s minimum sound claim and an older close-range reading are not evidence of a false claim about the same unit.
Bucket size and a workable drain route
Waykar’s current listing specifies a larger bucket. That offers more storage between emptying trips, although actual intervals depend on how much water each unit collects. A longer supplied hose gives Yaufey more reach; it does not give the appliance a pump.
Both require a downward gravity route. Yaufey’s manual illustrates how raised sections and a submerged outlet can obstruct drainage. Its stated outlet drop is at least 3.97 inches below the connection. Follow the delivered model’s instructions when positioning either unit. [3, 4]
If the discharge must rise to a sink or another elevated outlet, these base configurations do not solve that problem. See the drainage setup guide before choosing a pump arrangement. Other models sold under both brands have pumps, so a brand-wide claim that either company lacks them would be wrong.
What the historical owner reviews show
The earlier version of this comparison reported the following Amazon review shares. They combine multiple listings and end in 2023, so they describe older review groups rather than the current models shown above.

Preserved from Aridalia’s earlier comparison. The separate Yaufey brand analysis uses 3,098 reviews and a 6.2% low-star share, a different published denominator.
Yaufey had the lower low-star share in these published summaries. That is not a measured failure-rate advantage for PD161D over PD160B-PRO. The small denominator discrepancy has not been reconciled against the underlying review rows, so the two summaries should not be merged or presented as a fresh recalculation.
The corpus used in the broader review research contains 62,317 compressor-dehumidifier reviews from 2002 through 2023. Reviews are self-selected, and listings can span revisions. A low rating can concern shipping, service or setup as well as the appliance itself.

Earlier comparison’s topic tagging across all ratings, including positive reviews. Topics overlap; these are not complaint or defect rates.
Support appears more often in the Waykar group; drainage appears more often in the Yaufey group. These mention rates identify subjects to inspect, not the quality of support or the cause of a failure. They do not prove that bucket size explains a rating difference.
The Yaufey cohort contains 8 reviews from 2018, 450 from 2019, 1,578 from 2020, 864 from 2021, 177 from 2022 and 28 from 2023. Its decline at the end of this dataset does not establish that the brand stopped selling or that current quality changed.
Failure stories do not predict service life
The earlier analysis found 138 Waykar reviews and 36 Yaufey reviews that stated a time before failure. The reported medians were five and six months. Of those selected stories, 88% and 86%, respectively, described failure within a year.
These are medians among people reporting a failure time, not among all purchased units. They exclude machines still running without such a review. They therefore cannot support the earlier conclusion that both brands fail sooner than the rest, or a promise that a new unit should last five or six months. The Vremi review contains another historical cohort, with the same limits on lifespan inference.

Both extensions require registration. Waykar’s warranty page counts 14 days from receipt, while its refund policy counts from purchase; the published starting dates conflict. Its direct-store return exception should not be assumed to govern a Sylvane order. Warranty duration does not measure claim-handling speed.

Limits of this comparison
Aridalia did not test these appliances. Current specifications come from manufacturer documents; ENERGY STAR entries describe the exact registered models. The independent noise readings concern an older Waykar PD160B. No matched independent test of PD160B-PRO against PD161D was available in the sources reviewed.
The historical review statistics are retained from the earlier published analysis, not recomputed for this update. The Yaufey denominator difference and its store/manual capacity and control-range conflicts remain explicit. None is used to claim a current reliability winner.
Frequently asked questions
Are Waykar and Yaufey the same dehumidifier?
A past shared certification partner does not prove that. The pictured models have different specifications, and current ENERGY STAR entries name separate partners for the Waykar PD160B family and Yaufey JD025Q-80.
Does a 34-pint label mean 34 pints at normal test conditions?
For PD160B-PRO, the manual gives 34 pints per day at 95°F and 90% RH, but 10 at 65°F and 60% RH. Compare models at matching conditions.
Do either of these models pump water uphill?
No. PD160B-PRO and PD161D use bucket collection or gravity drainage. Pump models elsewhere in the brands’ lineups are separate products.
Is Yaufey more reliable?
Its historical review group had fewer low-star ratings. That does not establish a lower failure rate for a new PD161D, or a lifespan advantage over PD160B-PRO.
