This Waykar dehumidifier review had to be written differently from the others in the series, because the layers of data contradict each other. I did not test the unit.
In this 2002 to 2023 sample, 11.2 percent of Waykar reviews carry one or two stars. Among 138 reviews that state a failure interval, the median is five months. Those measures describe different subsets of owners. The specifications for PD160B also conflict within Waykar’s own product page.

Whythe numbersdisagree
The core sample is 62,317 reviews of 711 compressor household dehumidifiers written between 2002 and 2023, drawn from the open Amazon Reviews 2023 dataset. The selection method is described on a separate page.
Waykar accounts for 4,830 of those reviews across seven listings, all written between 2020 and 2023.
What owner ratings show
The share of one and two star reviews is 11.2 percent. Across the rest of the core sample it is 18.2 percent, and five star reviews here make up 74.9 percent.
Waykar has a lower share of low ratings than most brands covered in this series, though Kesnos is lower at 9.7 percent. Counted the same way: hOmeLabs 13.2 percent, Midea Cube 25.7, Frigidaire 31.7, GE 34.0, Haier 34.98, Hisense 35.2.
Five months
In 138 reviews the owner names how long the unit ran before it failed. The median, meaning the middle value of that list rather than the average, is 5 months, and 88 percent of the figures fall inside the first year.
Among reviews that report a failure interval, Waykar has the shortest median in this series. For comparison: Hisense 8 months, Frigidaire and hOmeLabs 12 each, GE 14, Haier 18.
This is where the numbers stop agreeing. A brand with relatively few low ratings also has the shortest median among the failure intervals reported in this series. Our data cannot explain that, and I am not going to smooth it over: both figures were counted by the same rules and they point in opposite directions.
The caveat on the measure itself stands as on every page here. A length of service gets named by owners whose unit died, so this is the distribution inside failure stories rather than an average service life.

These advertised capacities use hot, very humid air. The federal Appendix X1 figures use cooler conditions. Compare the same model number across both scales, rather than borrowing a rating from a related machine.

Manufacturer capacity claims and ENERGY STAR certifications were checked by exact model number on October 22, 2026. The registry also lists PD160B-PRO separately at 10.16 pints/day; it is not interchangeable with PD160B.

One page, several specifications
Waykar's PD160B page gives different tank figures: 0.62 gallons in the title, 0.6 in a badge and 0.66 in the specification table. Its title claims 33 dB, while its FAQ says 43 dB on high and 40 dB on low.
The same page calls PD160B a 2025 ENERGY STAR Most Efficient model, but its FAQ says it is not ENERGY STAR certified. The ENERGY STAR record for PD160B lists it as certified, not Most Efficient. A separate PD160B-PRO record carries the Most Efficient designation. The model suffix matters.
An independent hands-on test of PD160B measured 53.9 dB on low and 59.1 dB on high near the control panel. The test position and method may differ from Waykar's, so these numbers are evidence of a discrepancy, not a like-for-like lab comparison.

The older listings in the buying cards below describe tank or gravity drainage. Waykar now also lists household models with an integrated pump, including CHWA150PA. In Florida, decide where the collected water will go before purchase and check the exact model and hose arrangement.
Compactness is a real advantage: the machine takes up less floor space than its neighbours in the class. It is also the topic owners raise most often.

I did not test the unit. The findings come from owner reviews, the ENERGY STAR register and manufacturer specifications.
Reviews are not a random sample of owners: they are written by people who decided to write. The share of low ratings is not the share of failures.
Why a brand with relatively few low ratings also has a short median among reported failure intervals is not something our data explains.
Current ENERGY STAR records identify PD160B, PD160B-PRO, CTH80B and CHWA150PA separately. The older retailer links should still be checked against the exact model label before using a certification figure.
The product-page conflicts are reported as they appear. The ENERGY STAR register distinguishes PD160B from PD160B-PRO; the remaining conflicting tank and noise claims need confirmation for the exact unit.
